Why isn't it in the field? Jim humble said he put up his own money to cure 75,000 people of malaria in one day.

Many holistic therapies are swept under the rug, or laughed off as mere quackery, but people are curing cancer, aids, diabetes, and many other serious conditions.

How much press has magic Johnson got for reversing aids? Or more importantly how he did it.

He did not reverse his AIDS. He never had AIDS. He was, and remains asymptomatic but HIV positive. He was fortunate that by the time he had "acquired the HIV virus" we have made great strides in developing a triple drug cocktail that was highly active (HAART). His world class physical conditioning likely played a role as well. Magic was quite different than most of the people we knew who were part of this epidemic although he is not by any means the only person who is now "living" with HIV.

He is still taking drugs to prevent the virus from replicating. Here is an excerpt from the Huffington Post published at the time he celebrated the 20th anniversary of that shocking press conference.....

Two decades after his shocking admission and quick retirement at 32, Johnson's doctors say he's a 52-year-old specimen of health, comfortably managing HIV with a daily regimen of drugs and exercise.

While he once took upwards of 15 pills several times a day, he now requires just a few daily medications. He rises around 5 a.m. each day for a vigorous workout – everything from stretching and running to Tae Bo – before spending his days overseeing his large business empire.

Yet Johnson worries his strong health could encourage complacency, and he sees the anniversary of his historic announcement as a call to renew dedication to the cause.

"I often say I'm good for the virus, and bad for it," Johnson said. "Good because I'm doing well, and that I can go out and try and raise the awareness level, get people to go get tested ... but on the flip side of that, people see that I'm doing well, so they've kind of relaxed on HIV and AIDS. People think that now if they get the virus, they'll do well, but a couple million will die this year."

I was rather hoping you might have turned your keen analytic scrutiny on Jim Humble. Did you glance over that 'miracle mineral' website? Looks to me like the guy is peddling swimming pool steriliser as a cure all. Entirely bizarre.

I couldn't bring myself to look at the website. I enjoyed reading what micah posted because it was linked to science and could be scrutinized. I was pretty sure that this was not the case for Jim Humble and my blood would start to boil. I hope he hadn't claimed to have reversed Magic Johnson's AIDS with pool tablets.

Well i was bored this morning and read it. Much scarier than i thought. We used to say that the most effective cure for HIV is bleach. It was a way of saying that the virus was easy to irradicate. The problem was that you can't treat people with bleach. Apparently we were wrong.

Preying on the fears of the gullible like this ought to be illegal. I guess it's up to those of who are somewhat better informed to guide those who are less well informed away from nonsense like this. Damn, that sounds so patronising and superior and I don't mean it to. I really do think there's a kind of duty of care towards your fellow citizen that needs to come into play with these things.

Yup; that's me ALL over...think of how many of my posts are of precisely this sort?

Yuck, eh?

"...that sounds so patronising and superior..."

Yes, and yes...I really am, aren't I?

"...I really do think there's a kind of duty of care towards your fellow citizen that needs to come into play with these things...and even when it comes to more important issues like CREAM or whether it's an absolute fact that all bands burn out in about 2 yrs post-inception...you really have to beat people over the head about this stuff"

You certainly do...and I do.

And then some.
